Support the Library by buying books, CDs, and DVDs. Sales support the Berkeley Public Library’s free community programs.

The Friends Bookstore at the Central Library is just to the right as you enter. We have 2 sale tables, and both will be overflowing during the coming weeks.

September Sales

All  September, our sales tables will be covered with low-priced books for kids including a variety of series, graphic novels, and old favorites. Board books, picture books, early readers, too! Do stop by. Low prices, dozens of books. The supply will be replenished weekly—there’re so many books!

The CHANNING BOOKSTORE

The Channing Way Bookstore is located at 2433 Channing on the ground floor of the Telegraph-Channing garage. Our “Free Books” carts are stocked daily with books that we cannot sell, but are free for you to take and enjoy, or to refill your Little Free Library! The carts are currently available during all open hours and are located outside the store by the front entrance. Park in the parking structure: first hour is $1, or, use one of the pedestrian entrances on Channing Way or Durant Avenue (note: the latter is not wheelchair accessible).

September Sales

Animalia! Our ark overflows with books about dogs, cats, horses, snakes and birds! Training guides, field guides, sweet companion memoirs, picture books for kids, and other “tale” waggers. Come check out the sales table this month at the Channing store!

And from the crafts section we are featuring books on quilts and quilting. Quilts from Oklahoma, quilts from Hawaii, quilts from Amish country, prize winning quilts, quilts made by dogs, quilts of all sorts from everywhere—in gorgeous color, many with directions. OK, no quilts by dogs, but every other kind. Start or expand your quilting library now—at prices you can’t beat. We have on sale starting Tue., Sept. 1 an astonishing selection of hundreds of books on quilts and quilting—all books 50¢ to $1.
