The Friends Bookstore at the Central Library is just to the right as you enter. We have 2 sale tables, and both will be overflowing during the coming weeks.
Sales at the Central Library Bookstore for Late May and June
May 27–30: Wednesday, May 27 is the FINAL DAY for sales of graphic novels and comics(for kids and adults). Priced from 50¢ to a dollar.
This week we’ll also feature science fiction and fantasy novels, including vintage Sci Fi paperbacks just 50 s¢ each; Hardbacks $1.
And, to celebrate the Children’s Book Fair at the Central Library, we have books for kids of all ages—board books, early readers, classic children’s books, and more. Bring kids to the Book Fair on Saturday May 30 for excellent entertainment and then stop by the Friends bookstore for some deals on books to stimulate young minds. This sale starts Wednesday, May 27 and lasts through Saturday, May 30.
June 1-6: Time for our favorite sale: Quirky Books. There are some really unusual books out there, and we’ve gathered dozens of them for your amusement and edification.
June 8-13: Time for those books that you’ve always meant to read but that just slipped by you.
June 15-27: Travel time. Time to get away…or at least dream about it. Local, national, and international locales will be featured.…come along for the ride.
The CHANNING BOOKSTORE
The Channing Way Bookstore is located at 2433 Channing on the ground floor of the Telegraph-Channing garage. Our “Free Books” carts are stocked daily with books that we cannot sell, but are free for you to take and enjoy, or to refill your Little Free Library! The carts are currently available during all open hours and are located outside the store by the front entrance. Park in the parking structure: first hour is $1, or, use one of the pedestrian entrances on Channing Way or Durant Avenue (note: the latter is not wheelchair accessible).
Sales at the Channing Bookstore for June
Visit the Channing Bookstore and check out the sales table. For the month of June we’re featuring biographies and memoirs. Learn about the lives and times of people from way back, in between, and contemporary. Everyone has a story to tell and the published chronicles of the famous, infamous, and merely ordinary are bound to engage your interest.
We also have a special offering of LGBTQ books in the small bookcase. There’s a broad spectrum of books in this category that we have pulled from the general collection to make browsing easy. Well worth a visit to the Channing store.
