APRIL 21 – 26: VINTAGE BOOKS FOR KIDS. Re-live your own youth or share with your kids! Priced 50¢ and up.
APRIL 28 – MAY 3: MORE MEDIA! Recently we featured a “Sea of DVDs.” This month it’s a “wave of CDs.” Do float by our sale table; it’ll be awash with CDs, $1 for single discs, multi-discs slightly higher.
MAY 5 – 10: ASIAN-AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH. We feature AAPI history and culture.
MAY 12 – 17: A JUMBLE SALE? That’s what the British would call it; we call it a Bibliographic Oddment sale. Plenty of greeting cards, coloring books (for adults and children), blank journals, jigsaw puzzles, and much other miscellaneous stuff.
MAY 20 – 24: KID’S FAVORITES! (CLOSED MONDAY, MAY 19 FOR MALCOLM X DAY.) Children’s books by three popular authors: Dr. Seuss, J.K. Rowling, and Mo Willems.
MAY 27 – 31: CLASSICS. (CLOSED MONDAY, MAY 26 FOR MEMORIAL DAY.) Classics with beautiful and/or unusual bindings will likely spiff up your bookshelves. We’ll be selling them while supplies last (attractive classics, not bookshelves).

MAY IS GARDENING AND PHILOSOPHY MONTH!
Visit the Channing Bookstore and check out the sales table. Everything from flowers to vegetables, to decks and rocks. Whether you’re a master gardener or just an armchair enthusiast, we have the books for you. Learn how to raise tomatoes in our foggy microclimate, or enjoy a trip to Kew Gardens from the comfort of your own home. And if nothing grows, consult the Stoics and philosophers. We’ve received a substantial donation of quality books for our Philosophy shelf and they’re waiting for you. As always, everything reasonably priced.
The Friends Channing Way Bookstore is located at 2433 Channing on the ground floor of the Telegraph-Channing garage. Park in the parking structure: first hour free!, or, use one of the pedestrian entrances on Channing Way or Durant Avenue (note: the latter is not wheelchair accessible). The Central Library Bookstore is on the first floor of the Central Library.
Our “Free Books” carts are stocked daily with books that we cannot sell, but are free for you to take and enjoy, or to refill your Little Free Library! The carts are currently available during all open hours and are located outside the store by the front entrance.
